Overview

Kome is a browser extension that handles three things most creators and researchers do constantly: reading long content quickly, keeping track of what they find, and turning saved material into new writing. It does all three from a single extension without requiring a separate app or tab. The AI summarizer works on any article, news page, YouTube video, or PDF. One click produces a concise summary so you can decide in seconds whether the content is worth reading in full. For YouTube, it also works without watching the video. The bookmark manager goes beyond basic saving. Kome auto-organizes saved content into categories, making it searchable later. No more dumping links into an unsorted favorites folder. You search your bookmarks like a knowledge base. The Smart Compose feature uses your saved bookmarks as source material. Ask Kome to draft a tweet, an email, or a blog outline based on content you've already bookmarked, and it pulls from what you've read rather than generating from scratch. This keeps writing grounded in real research. Kome is available for Chrome, Brave, Opera, and Arc. The free tier is genuinely usable. Premium at $5.99/month adds 200 monthly summary credits, full composing features, PDF support, and priority support.

Best For

Content creators who research topics regularly and want to capture and recall sources without managing a separate knowledge system, Writers and bloggers who want to turn their reading habits directly into draft content without starting from scratch, Researchers and students who consume large volumes of web content and need fast summaries to filter what's worth reading, Newsletter writers and curators who bookmark dozens of articles weekly and need to quickly turn them into structured writing

How It Works

Install Kome from your browser's extension marketplace. The extension adds a small icon to your toolbar and a sidebar you can open from any page. To summarize content, click the Kome icon while on any article, news page, or YouTube video. Kome extracts the content and generates a concise summary instantly. For PDFs, upload the file or open it in your browser and trigger the summary from the extension. To bookmark content, use the extension to save any page, link, or highlight. Kome organizes saved items automatically into categories and tags. Later, open the bookmark manager and search by keyword or browse by category. The compose feature connects your bookmark library to AI writing. Open the Smart Compose panel, describe what you want to write (a tweet thread about this topic, an email summarizing these three articles), and Kome generates a draft using your saved content as context. The result is grounded in what you've actually read.
