Checksub
Paid | Free Trial | Video Editing
Overview
Checksub handles the subtitle-to-dubbing pipeline end to end. You upload a video, Checksub auto-generates subtitles in the source language, translates them into any of 200+ languages, and — on paid plans — dubs the video with AI-generated voices that match the original speaker using voice cloning and lip-sync technology. The platform is built for teams translating training videos, e-learning courses, marketing content, and social media videos at scale. Localization work that previously required manual transcription and professional voice actors can be done in minutes. The online editor lets you review and refine every subtitle cue and dubbed line before export, giving human editors control over quality without rebuilding from scratch. A major 2025 update added multi-track dubbing editing, improved lip-sync accuracy, and a Voice Studio for creating and reusing custom cloned voices across projects. Animated subtitle styles support branded caption overlays for social media. All plans include a free trial so teams can evaluate output quality on real content before committing.

Best For
E-learning and training teams translating course videos into multiple languages for international employee onboarding, Marketing teams localizing product demo and promotional videos for regional campaigns without hiring voice actors, Social media creators adding animated captions and translated subtitles to maximize audience reach across platforms, Video agencies handling multilingual subtitle and dubbing production for clients at speed and scale
How It Works
You upload a video file to Checksub and the AI generates subtitles in the original language. This transcript becomes the foundation for all downstream translations and dubbing. Checksub requires this step because direct translation from audio without a transcript produces lower-quality results. From the subtitle editor, you select translation languages and Checksub generates localized subtitle files. On Starter and Enterprise plans, you can also generate AI dubbing: the platform clones the original speaker's voice (or lets you select from a library of premium voices), synthesizes the translated audio, and applies lip-sync to match mouth movements to the new dialogue. The online editor provides timeline-level control over subtitle timing, cue splitting, audio levels, and dubbing sentence edits. You can trim, cut, remove, or regenerate individual dubbing sentences from the timeline. Exports include SRT, VTT, TXT subtitle files and video files with burned-in or embedded captions. Team plans allow multiple users to review and approve subtitles simultaneously.
